Using an ensemble of downsscaled global climate models (GCMs), the GlobalClimateData group is helping understand impacts of climate change in mountain regions around the world.  Here projected changes in snowfall are shown under two representative conentration pathways (RCPs) for an ensemble of six GCMs.  RCPs 4.5 and 8.5 represent different climate change scenarios, with RCP 8.5 being a "business as usual" scenario and RCP 4.5 being a scenario where moderate global greenhouse gas emissions reductions are implemented.

The grey line is hindcast annual average snowfall for 1950-2000 modeled using downscaled Climate Research Unit time-series data as input to the GlobalClimateData downscaling package.
